The VP of IT Operations will have a direct reporting line to the Global CIO and will hold a key executive position overseeing the MGA division at Bluefire Insurance. This role will be responsible for leading technology and strategic initiatives within the MGA, including the development of technologies and programs to support the company's continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the vision, future direction, and strategic use of infrastructure, enterprise applications, and information systems.
- Drive technological innovation and stay current with emerging technologies, assessing their impact on the organization's goals.
- Maintain existing enterprise systems and provide guidance on technology-related issues.
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Partner with VPs of Applications and Infrastructure to support and improve their respective solutions.
- Implement and support a customer service culture that fulfills end-users' needs.
- Build strong relationships with leaders across programs and departments, fostering collaboration and consensus.
- Develop and execute the Enterprise Services roadmap, prioritizing and implementing approved projects.
- Manage a comprehensive program management approach supporting the entire IT organization.
- Ensure compliance with IT quality, security processes, and data privacy regulations.
- Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors and evaluate their value-add for prioritizing initiatives.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting skill development and coaching.
- Oversee Technical Support, Technical Services, and Integration Support segments.
- Participate in IT budgeting and establish service and operating level agreements.
- Collaborate with the Talent department to grow and develop the IT workforce.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in senior-level IT leadership positions within the insurance industry.
- Insurance (Auto) experience required.
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, products, and market trends.
- Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives and implementing innovative technology solutions.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, systems, and software across multiple platforms.
- Track record of successfully managing IT teams and overseeing complex projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and risk management principles.
- Experience in the insurance industry, specifically with carriers or MGAs, and knowledge of insurance platforms such as Insuresoft, Silvervine, DuckCreek, or Guidewire is strongly desired.
