Job Description:
We are seeking a School Safety Officer to join our team in St. Johns, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and enforcing security protocols.
- Responding to emergencies and critical incidents.
- Building positive relationships and preventing conflicts.
- Conducting safety drills and training.
- Preparing reports and documentation.
Education and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Training in law enforcement, military, or security.
Experience and Skills:
- 3 years of combined experience in military, law enforcement, corrections, security, and emergency response (including first responders or other relevant fields).
- Advanced proficiency in firearms and tactical training.
- Intermediate level in emergency response systems and protocols, and incident reporting and documentation tools.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around both indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Competencies:
- Crisis management and problem-solving (Level 3).
- Communication and relationship building (Level 3).
- Knowledge of law enforcement and school policies (Level 3).
Licenses:
- Driver's license (D, G, DL).
- Concealed carry permit (CCW).
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Certifications:
- Guardian Safe School Officer Training Certificate (Aaron Feis).
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to undergo and pass a drug test (s. 112.0455), psychological evaluation (Chapter 490, Department of Law Enforcement), and background check.
- Must possess their own firearm, duty belt (Level 3 retention holster), and a total of 5 magazines.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
