Summary
The Information Security Analyst I works closely with other IT staff, providing expert guidance in all areas of information security. This position is responsible for daily operational monitoring and threat response. Assigned projects will be executed following process standards for the organization. This position will work with all levels of the organization to ensure the maximum level of security consistent with organizational risk, information access requirements, current business strategies and information technology strategic plans.
Position Reports To : IT - IS Security Manager
Essential Functions
Monitors IT Security ticket queue, resolving incidents and requests providing clear documented resolutions.Assist in maintaining security dashboards & run standard reports to produce security data as needed.Process security events and alerts and follow incident response processes for escalation and participate in on-call rotation to ensure around-the-clock cybersecurity monitoring and response.Participate in internal security audits in alignment with HITRUST, SOC2, NIST and HIPPA standards and principles. PEN testing, phishing campaigns, entitlement reviews and defining security principles in a changing environment.Works in Knowledge Base frequently; makes improvements to existing articles owned by IT Security and assists with the creation of new processes.Participate in the development of security programs and testing documentation.Assist in employee awareness training & education.Supports project efforts based on business needs.Leverage existing IT Security platforms to monitor alerts and activity that requires remediation.Actively audit security environment configurations and make suggestions for improvement. Implement changes following standards.Works with minimal supervision and partners with other analysts on projects as needed.Maintains up to date awareness of threat landscape and a high level of proficiency in the fields of computing security and business continuity.Ensures organizational compliance with the security sections of Federal and State regulations including HIPAA and DNV standards.Participate in Physical Security Audits as needed.Other duties as assigned.Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or other IT related field or equivelent experience.5 years experience in Information Technology and 2 years in Information Security.Experience in Azure Active Directory, Defender Security Suite, Group Policy and Conditional access.Excellent communication, interpersonal, troubleshooting and documentation skills. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and educate diverse groups of people.Ability to use logical thinking to solve practical problems and interpret instructions for complex oral or written processes. Participate in on-call rotation.Desired :
Certifications : CHP (Certified Healthcare Professional), CompTIA Security , Defender Security Suite, Azure Active Directory.Experience in LAN / WAN principles and protocols, and scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, Python, CSharp).Experience in security methodologies and standards.Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals, and government regulatory guidelines.
