Summary
Wenatchee Valley College is seeking a part-time nursing assistant instructor to prepare and
instruct nursing students in the classroom, simulation lab and clinical setting. The successful
candidate will be responsible for delivering nursing coursework aligned with the approved program
curriculum.
Essential Functions
Teaching and Course Development
- Develops and teaches assigned courses in accordance with WVC-approved course
descriptions and master syllabi.
Prepares, administers, grades, and analyzes examinations and student performance in atimely manner.
Participate in the administration of the state certification exam once approved to do so.In clinical settings, faculty are responsible for planned clinical and practice experiences,overall supervision and evaluation, and conferring with each preceptor or interdisciplinary
mentor and student at least three times during the students' experience.
Incorporates appropriate teaching-learning strategies, technologies, and assessmentmethods for evaluating student learning into the course.
Maintains and reviews student evaluations and grades with students and faculty.Student Support and Professional Development
Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with all persons associated with theprogram.
Assists in guidance and advisement of students in coordination with the program director.Follows the college's guidelines for preparing and submitting course syllabi.Engages in activities that facilitate student achievement of learning outcomes, such asongoing feedback and coaching as needed.
Meets requirements of the nursing program, and of accreditation and state qualificationand requirements.
Monitors student attendance and course progress according to WVC published deadlines.Seeks opportunities to attend scheduled advisory meetings and college communityservice.
Supports the mission and goals of the college.Adheres to professional and ethical standards of conduct.Qualifications
Required :
Education : Graduate from an accredited nursing school recognized by Washington state.Licensure : Have a valid and current Washington state LPN or RN licensure.Experience : Have one to two years of experience in direct nursing care in a long-term carefacility within the past five years.
Computer skills : Be computer-literate and proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.Teaching experience : Have one year of experience teaching in a classroom setting.Adult instruction training : Complete a training course on adult instruction or have one yearof experience teaching adults.
Desired :
Current CPR certification (will be required upon hire).Community college teaching experience.
Salary : $38 - $44
