Summary
To coordinate and ensure patients are prepared for surgeries. This role will be in contact with patients to be the final check from the Urology department prior to surgery. This role will also ensure that schedules are appropriate for staffing and equipment levels in the Urology Procedure Center.
Position Reports To : Practice Manager
Essential Functions
Exhibits excellent customer service while being able to multi task under pressure.Directly interacts with the Urology team members as well as staff across multiple facilities and departments to ensure patients have all pre-operative labs and imaging completed prior to surgery.Verify that post-operative appointments have been scheduled prior to surgery.Makes, reschedules and cancels procedures, understanding the unique scheduling needs of the various providers in the department so that patient access is optimized.Consistently monitors schedules for both providers and the Urology Procedure Center to ensure schedules are full.Provide feedback on workload, scheduling issues, and refinements to the management team on an ongoing basis.Answers the telephone and checks messages in a timely manner. Returns or directs calls to the appropriate personnel by end of day.Effectively communicates all schedule changes to the appropriate personnel.Ability to maintain accuracy on a consistent basis.Able to utilize various formats (epic, outlook, in-baskets, secure chat and teams) at the same time to look at multiple schedules, messages when scheduling patient appointments.Checks in-basket messages throughout the day requiring scheduling attention.Other duties as assigned.Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
Qualifications
Required :
High school graduate or equivalent.A working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, email communication and password management.Desired :
Previous clerical or office experience in an imaging or medical setting.Familiarity with medical terminology.Physical / Sensory Demands
