Confluent is hiring! We are seeking a Surface Process Development Engineer, Senior Staff to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts to develop, optimize, and implement robust Surface processes for Nitinol medical devices.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of Confluent’s multifunctional Process Development Team responsible for development, optimization, and validation of medical device production processes.
- Develop robust surface processes such as microblasting, chemical etching, chemical polishing, and electropolishing.
- Work in collaboration with operators, technicians, and other engineers to deliver devices that meet customer requirements.
- Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, visual standards, and technical memorandums.
- Coordinate with the Production team for training and manufacturing support.
- Utilize six sigma and lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement of validated manufacturing processes.
Essential Qualities:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment.
- Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline and a minimum of 7 years relevant engineering experience.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with Minitab or JMP desirable.
