About the Role :

We’re looking for a seasoned technologist to join our Advanced Technology Team, a specialized group within Confluent that focuses on deep technical aspects of Kafka, distributed systems, and real-time data streaming. As a technical advisor to the sales team, you will collaborate closely with product management and engineering, acting as a product advocate to prospects and customers.

This role requires expertise in Apache Kafka, distributed systems, and pre-sales engineering, along with a strong background in Oracle databases, including Oracle GoldenGate, XStream API, and Oracle Change Data Capture (CDC). Ideal candidates may have experience as Technical Account Managers, Sales Engineers, or Professional Services consultants.

What You Will Do :

Engage with Customers : Understand clients' technical challenges and help them design real-time distributed architectures using Kafka, Confluent Cloud, Confluent Platform, and Data Streaming Products, including Connectors, Stream Processing (Kafka Streams, KSQLDB, Flink), and Governance solutions.

Provide Deep Technical Expertise : Guide customers in deploying and optimizing Kafka-based architectures and integrating them with Oracle databases using GoldenGate, XStream API, and Oracle CDC.

Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with sales, product management, and engineering to refine and improve Confluent’s product messaging based on customer feedback.

Educate and Advocate : Lead technical workshops, webinars, and customer enablement sessions on Kafka, Confluent Data Streaming Products, and Oracle database integrations.

Shape Technical Strategy : Influence product development and customer solutions by identifying gaps, challenges, and opportunities in event-driven architectures

What You Will Bring :

Strong expertise in Apache Kafka and Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform, including Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform.

Deep experience with Oracle database technologies, specifically Oracle GoldenGate, XStream API, and Oracle CDC for real-time data replication and change data capture.

Hands-on knowledge of Kafka Connect and distributed data pipelines, with experience integrating streaming solutions across hybrid cloud environments.

Proficiency in Confluent's Stream Processing technologies, including Kafka Streams, KSQLDB, and Flink, to help customers design real-time data processing pipelines.

Strong understanding of governance and security best practices within streaming architectures.

Ability to architect enterprise-scale, real-time data pipelines in hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Proficiency in Java or Python and experience building event-driven, ETL, or CDC-based applications.

7 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or similar technical role.

Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, and marketing.

Experience with event-driven architectures for Fortune 1000 companies.

Deep knowledge of Oracle data replication strategies and streaming-based database integration.

Understanding of Confluent Governance solutions, ensuring data lineage, security, and compliance in streaming architectures.

Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position has an annual estimated salary of $132,400 - $155,610, a competitive equity package and is also eligible for additional commission and / or bonus pay.
