Job Summary:
Seeking a Kafka Admin with expertise in Kafka Confluent and managing distributed Kafka clusters for high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Kafka cluster deployment, configuration, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting in both on-premise and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters, ensuring stability and performance.
- Implement security mechanisms such as Kerberos authentication, TLS encryption, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Monitor Kafka using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack, and Confluent Control Center.
- Manage Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker, Schema Registry, and KSQL for data streaming and replication.
- Tune Kafka brokers, partitions, and topics for low latency and high throughput.
- Implement disaster recovery strategies, backups, and failover mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot producer/consumer issues, offset management, and message retention policies.
- Manage Kafka configurations using ZooKeeper and optimize leader election.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines for Kafka deployments and upgrades.
- Automate Kafka administration tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or shell scripting.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of hands-on experience in Kafka administration.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka Confluent & Open-Source Kafka.
- Expertise in Kafka security (Kerberos, SSL/TLS, SASL, ACLs).
- Experience with Kafka clustering, topic replication, and partitioning.
- Proficiency in Kafka Connect, MirrorMaker, and Schema Registry.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines for Kafka (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for Kafka deployment.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery strategies and Kafka data retention policies.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $41.61 - $50.11 per hour
