Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities, providing a safe and functional environment for all staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. General cleaning and event preparation are essential tasks of this position. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, reporting to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Clean windows and glass doors
- Replace HVAC filters as needed
- Prepare classrooms and other spaces for classes and other events, including some furniture arrangements.
- Replace interior and exterior lightbulbs as needed.
- Maintain exterior property including lawn mowing in summer and snow blowing in winter.
- Oversee daily trash removal and restocking of restroom and kitchen supplies.
- Sweeping/mopping/vacuuming floors, cleaning/disinfecting surfaces including door handles, hand rails, tables and counters.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify potential problems or areas in need of improvement.
- Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities performed and inventory of supplies for routine maintenance needs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing employee or member concerns promptly and professionally.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English is required for effective communication within the team and with members and visitors.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Experience in Maintenance is preferred, with a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with staff, members, and tenants.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism in all tasks performed.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
- Must be physically able to push/lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders safely, and bend/crouch/kneel as the job may require.
