Position Summary

The Bilingual Crime Victim's Therapist is responsible for is responsible for the administration of therapeutic services to individuals who have experienced victimization in the East Division. The Therapist will work closely with the Crime Victim’s Manager to develop a plan for accessing a mental health assessment and plan for treatment for patients referred through Temple Trauma. Therapist will administer Cognitive Behavior Therapy and/or other evidence-based individual and group interventions to eligible adults.

 

The Bilingual Crime Victim's Therapist has internal contacts with the entire administrative staff and external contact with clients, community resources, and the community. This position has access to sensitive Congreso information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position has regular contact with community members and is expected to represent Congreso in a professional manner.

 

This position reports to the Director of Family Wellness. This is a Hybrid position.

Essential Functions

  • Represents Congreso’s mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and will be an ambassador of our work.
  • Works in collaboration with Program Manager and Director to develop and sustain a caseload of 30 clients per year.
  • Screens, assesses and delivers individual Cognitive Behavior Therapy and/or other evidence-based individual and group interventions with program participants, focusing on issues related to drug and alcohol abuse/dependence, mental health issues, or both.  
  • Provides family, group and collateral therapy as deemed clinically appropriate.
  • Completes all mandated electronic program documentation as required by agency/department operation manual and funders.
  • Develops recruitment materials and participates in community education as it relates to therapeutic services.
  • Administers designated clinical pre and post tools as established by the program.
  • Participates in all relevant Philadelphia Crime Victim Collaborative Meetings as they relate to all services.
  • Leads the creation of therapeutic approaches that authentically embrace diverse cultures, ensuring inclusivity and fostering innovation in the process

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the community needs and demographics.
  • Ability to understand, acknowledge, and assess client needs to provide a timely, trauma informed approach in service.
  • Ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information and understanding for issues such as confidentiality, domestic abuse, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements.
  • Adheres to all Congreso, departmental, programmatic, and security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services as required, including relevant professional groups to maintain professional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
  • Attends, participates, and facilitates relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
  • Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups, in a compassionate, courteous, and respectful manner that fosters an inclusive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 


Minimum Experience, Education, and Qualifications

Minimum Education: 

Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field required.

 

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of 2 years counseling experience in trauma and abuse, work with adults a plus.

 

Certification/License:

PA License: LPC, LMFT, LSW, or LCSW required.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and TREM certifications preferred, may be completed post hire.
