II. POSITION SUMMARY
The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF) is dedicated to preparing the next generation for community service and policy development through its Leadership Institute. Our mission is to increase the representation of Black leaders in public service careers and policy positions by providing fellowships, internships, and scholarships. We aim to document and celebrate the successes of our program alumni while keeping them connected and engaged with the CBCF.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations Coordinator, will play a pivotal role in supporting the expansion of Leadership Institute Alumni-related efforts. This position involves facilitating our Alumni efforts in various regions of the United States. The Alumni Relations Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing regional alumni chapters to strengthen connections and foster active participation among alumni. This role involves developing and executing strategies to enhance alumni engagement, facilitating chapter operations, and serving as the primary liaison between regional chapters and the organization’s central alumni relations team and its place-based partnerships. The Alumni Relations Coordinator will collaborate with chapter leaders to plan and execute events, initiatives, and programs that align with the organization’s goals. They will monitor chapter performance, provide guidance and resources to chapter leaders, and identify opportunities to cultivate new leadership and grow membership.

E. Internal Relationships: Maintains close coordination with CBCF departments
F. External Relationships: Interact with Alumni and external partners as defined by Senior Manager, Alumni Relations.
IV. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the establishment and growth of regional alumni chapters to build a vibrant and engaged alumni community.- Providing oversight, training, and mentorship to chapter leaders to ensure consistent operations and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Facilitating communication between regional alumni chapters and the CBCF alumni relations team to share updates, resources, and best practices.
- Coordinating regional events and initiatives that foster alumni networking, professional development, and philanthropic efforts.
- Monitoring chapter activities, membership engagement, and event outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform strategy.
- Managing regional communications, including newsletters, social media updates, and promotional materials tailored to alumni audiences.
- Identifying and nurturing alumni leaders for future chapter involvement or organizational opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Alumni Relations to determine appropriate Place-Based Partnerships for continued community impact.
- Provide information and training on Place-Based Partnerships to alumni in assigned region
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Alumni Relations, to continuously improve alumni documentation and connection processes.
- Undertake additional administrative tasks and projects as directed by the Leadership Institute team

V. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY/ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Incumbent must communicate with internal and external stakeholders to positively influence the effectiveness of CBCF in achieving its objectives. The incumbent must follow and adhere to federal, state and local ethics laws, as well as CBCF business conduct policies. Failure to comply can result in penalties for the organization and/or the incumbent.
VI. SPECIFICATIONS:
A. Education/Experience: Candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in management, social science, human development, or a related field of study. A minimum of two years of professional experience in higher education and/or stakeholder engagement for a social policy research organization, academic institution, or governmental agency or office. Strong preference will be given to alumni of the Leadership Institute who have been an intern, fellow, and/or recipient of a scholarship.
B. Skills and Abilities: Highly intelligent, self-motivated, and methodologically sound at problem- solving. Maturity, excellent judgment, and a passion for CBCF's mission are essential. Experience organizing and curating events while managing a budget and a small team. The ability to effectively work independently and as part of a cohesive team is necessary. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; and effective time management with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously professionally and conscientiously. Planning and organizational skills with attention to detail are mandatory. The ability to proofread and edit is required.
C. Computer and Technical Proficiencies: Computer and Technical Proficiencies: Highly proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and overall aptitude for technology and cloud-based software are required. Proficiency with telecommunications devices such as iPads, iPhone and/or Androids preferred. Experience with education or scholarship software is helpful.
D. Physical Requirements: Applicant must be confident and reliable with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Must be able to manage simultaneous priorities. The ability to effectively and efficiently produce in periods of heavy workloads is an essential function of this position. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends based on the project/event.
