The Branch Service Representative provides members with timely, accurate and exemplary service when processing transactions. Displays a thorough knowledge of products and services. Conducts basic member needs analysis for the purpose of referring to the appropriate business partner for additional service. Performs the duties of the position at the employee's regular branch or branches from Monday through Friday, and will work Saturday hours at the Oakton Branch on a rotational basis.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Provides an exemplary service experience to the member while handling routine and moderately complex member transactions.
  • Receives and accurately processes financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.
  • Posts transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
  • Cross sells credit union services, refer members to the appropriate business partner for additional services. Meets or exceeds referral goals.
  • Accurately processes member transactions throughout the business day and accurately balances cash drawer at close of business, while maintaining compliance and operational integrity of transactions.
  • Completes tasks with a working knowledge of policies and procedures. Maintains member security at all times. May assist other branch staff with moderately complex transactions or processes.
  • Welcomes members by name, provide a high level of service and builds relationships with members. Facilitates problem resolution in a timely and seamless fashion. Leveraging established relationships, may ask for new member referrals.

Experience and Desired Skills :

  • Minimum two to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school degree or a
  • A two-year college degree or

  • Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or
  • Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Other Skills -Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch.
  • Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and / or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and / or individuals) becomes necessary.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to communicate with staff, members and the public.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and to occasionally lift and move items up to 20 lbs. in weight.
