What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Inspector position at Congruex?
Job Title: Field Inspector
The Utility Field Inspector shall perform a variety of field surveying tasks inclusive of aerial pole line data capture and underground (surface) data collection, utilizing a variety of tools.
- Collect relevant pole information and accurately document existing measurements and placement.
- Utility pole identification, inspection, and classification.
- Gather aerial attachment heights and clearances, checking for violations.
- Conduct Underground/Buried Cable layout surveys.
- Accurately depict new construction route opportunities.
- Assure that vehicle and tools are maintained to company safety standards.
- Responsible for always conducting job in safe manner.
- Daily travel to worksites in a personal vehicle. (Mileage reimbursement provided)
- Take pictures of job sites, pole conditions and other relevant structures or landmarks.
- Upload clear images, files, hand notes, and sketches, and edit for quality and cohesiveness.
- Make hand drawn sketches of recommended engineering design while in the field or facility.
- Interface with customers/landowners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Familiarity with the types of equipment used on the job: Geode GNS3, height stick, measuring wheel, GPS, etc.
- Arithmetic ability to produce necessary calculations.
- Computer skills to operate drafting, map-making and geographic information software.
- Analytical skills to interpret data compiled by equipment.
- Ability to lift or pull items weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Enough stamina to stand and move throughout an eight-hour work shift.
- Able to read blueprints and maps.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- The ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
