About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Data Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health Information Management Department, you will be responsible for providing HIM support in maintaining the Department's paper and electronic health record system.
You will have an understanding of privacy and security guidelines related to patient information and maintain HIPAA as well as keep all patient information confidential. The key duties of this position rely heavily on the ability to learn, and navigate efficiently within, an electronic health record.
As a Healthcare Data Specialist, you will be able to communicate both orally and in writing clearly and effectively in the English language; able to work in a fast-paced environment; and develop sound professional working relationships. This position is responsible for advanced functions within the Health Information Management Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Imaging: You will be responsible for prepping, scanning, and quality reviewing/indexing medical records into the Document Management Solution/EMR in a timely manner.
- HIM Spec Sr Functions: You will perform various functions within Document Imaging, including prepping, scanning, and/or QX/Indexing, to ensure records are prepared, scanned, and QC/Indexed into the Document Management Solution/EMR.
- Document Chart Analysis: You will analyze medical records for completion, assign and reassign provider deficiencies as needed in accordance with regulatory guidelines and in compliance with facility timely completion policy.
- Data Integrity Duties: You will complete data integrity duties as assigned, such as chart correction, duplicate medical records, etc.
