2025 Summer Construction Internship - Dubuque, IA

Conlon offers a dynamic internship for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction. Interns will have the opportunity to support either Superintendents in the field or Project Management personnel in the office. Interns are exposed to numerous aspects of the project(s) assigned.

During your internship with us, you will gain valuable work experience working with some of the best construction personnel in the industry, tackling tasks just as our full-time employees do. You will be a valued member of the team.

Duties vary based on assignment and position; Conlon's expectations of Interns include but are not limited to: 

• Assist with material tracking and deliveries.
• Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination.
• Develop productive relationships within the project team, with contractors, and with design teams and clients.
• Ensure the accuracy of project documentation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Identify and understand requirements of the project team and participate in collaborative problem solving.
• Plan and prioritize individual contributions and those of team members to achieve high-quality, timely results.
• Write proposals, monthly reports, and other related project documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor and appearance and perform well under project constraints and deadlines.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) working knowledge of project management software. Willingness to test and implement new technologies as they become available.
• Solid numerical and analytical skills and ability to apply these skills to achieve accurate project budgeting and basic estimating for project scope changes.
• Valid Driver’s License
