What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal CNC Machinist - Third Shift PMO Factory position at CONMED Corporation?
As a Principal Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.
- Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation
- Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection
- Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance
- Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in operation CNC production equipment
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.
- Live tooling
- Multi-axis machining
- Ability to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects
- Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts
- Blueprint reading
