Job Summary :
ConMet is a global leader in the design and manufacture of components for the commercial vehicle industry, and we are looking for an Engineer for our advanced Manufacturing Engineering team to support that innovation for our plants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Promotes & provides technical support for continuous improvement in environmental, safety, or quality issues by ensuring that equipment is designed, modified or repaired to maintain and improve performance.
- Ensures that equipment can produce parts to specification within acceptable production times / costs.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Writes, submits, and manages Capital / Expense Projects, including analysis for justification.
- Provides training and work instructions on new equipment and process changes.
- Develops and Implements cost reduction ideas, lean initiatives; 5-S, Kaizen, Standard Work Instructions, and TPS.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
