Job Title: CNC Set-Up Operator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position sets-up and operates the CNC lathes.
- Required to set-up, operate and maintain all machine components in order to avoid producing defective parts.
- Properly and carefully handle all instruments and components.
- Routinely inspects assigned work to ensure compliance with established job standards.
- Complies with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Must be capable of retrieving and adapting programming to execute various job programs on the CNC, in addition to other mechanical set-ups and adjustments.
- Required to verify all dimensions with plug gauges and mics and ensure proper finish through visual inspection.
- Required to set-up drills, turning tools and other perishable or non-perishable tooling.
- Required to load and unload machines/bar feeders with raw material and execute all prescribed machine procedures for each assigned job.
- The correct specifications, for each assigned operation, must be maintained. Any void in specification must be identified, and either corrected, evaluated and/or corrected by the employee responsible for the set-up.
- The correct safety protection and protocol must be utilized for each assigned operation.
- Required to maintain an appropriate, clean, and safe work environment.
- Complies with Eastlake Policies and Procedures, and with functional and cosmetic quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Manufacturing Process Aptitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.
- Regular attendance.
- Required to stand for extended periods.
- Required to move assigned quantities of parts or raw material to the assigned work area or to assigned inventory locations.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measuring devices (micrometers and calipers, etc.) Use of related manufacturing equipment and operating controls.
- Required to properly dispose of or recycle any scrap material generated by any assigned production operation, and are required to maintain an appropriate, clean and safe work environment.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, noise and vibration.
