The Credit Analyst reports to the Credit Supervisor and is responsible for effective administration of credit and collection performance. Manages the investigation and review of credit and financial data on existing and potential customers both domestic and foreign. Manages account collections and takes appropriate actions against delinquent accounts. Monitors accounts and provides reporting to ensure compliance with policy and legal statutes.
Responsibilities:
- Consistent review and analysis of dealer orders identified through hold queues to assess requirements in which to ship said orders.
- Review new account documentation submitted by Sales Department, including credit application, financial statements, credit reports, credit references and other information pertinent to making decisions on granting terms credit limits
- Perform financial/credit analysis annually or as deemed necessary utilizing current financial statements, credit documents, trade information and historical data.
- Ability to interpret financial statements (income statements, balance sheet, cash flow) and tax returns and apply toward credit decisions with the intent to mitigate risk and enhance sales.
- Enforce collection policy by initiating timely and consistent collection activity via phone, email or fax. Negotiate appropriate payment plans for moderate to severe collection scenarios.
- Reconcile and resolve account discrepancies and disputes in an accurate and timely manner
- Review, determine and recommend write-offs and adjustments within specific company and departmental guidelines.
- Prepare written assessments and recommendations for actions of specific accounts as required for regular departmental meetings or as requested by management.
- Assist in special projects as needed or requested.

Qualifications:
- Minimum associate degree required
- 2-5 years minimum experience in credit and collections preferably in a manufacturing or wholesale credit environment
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of management and customers both external and internal
- Effective communication and strong persuasive skills
- Strong understanding of credit, collections, banking, and commercial law
- Self-starter with strong initiative willing to challenge status quo
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex situations with professionalism and decorum
- Accurate, organized and the ability to effectively apply business and credit principles, practices, and procedures
- Competence in using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Access)
- Long periods of sedentary work
- Requires repetitive upper movement – keyboarding, telephone, and monitor use
