The Distribution Supervisor supervises and leads employees within a distribution center environment. Maintains and continuously improves operations within receiving, inventory control & flow process, kitting production, and customer order fulfillment process.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees to process and ship orders that ensure a domestic customer order fulfillment rate of 95% within Conn-Selmer’s “in by 2:00, out same day” standard, while safeguarding a 99% accuracy rate.
- Oversee receiving process:
- Maintain ‘put-away’ goal of 24 hrs within receipt of product
- Verify accurate system transactions for incoming inventory and customer returns
- Incoming product SKU and count verifications
- Customer order fulfillment process (domestic and export):
- Picking and packing
- Order invoicing
- Physical departures of parcel, LTL, and FTL shipments
- Day-end verification checks to ensure completion
- Conduct customer order accuracy audits
- Lead efforts to maintain a safe, clean and well organized working environment.
- Manage and adhere to kitting dept production schedule.
- Ensure all personnel are performing to cost, quality, and productivity standards.
- Data collection and evaluation of employee performance metrics. Complete employee reviews and/or discipline as required.
- Other relevant duties as assigned in association with the optimization of the workforce and distribution operations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years supervisory experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Able to exercise good judgment & management discretion on daily business issues.
- Strong sense of urgency accompanied by a high energy level.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably MAPICS. Business experience with Excel spreadsheets also required.
- Must have the technical knowledge, competence, and passion for excellence required to direct shop floor employees in a team oriented environment.
- High school diploma required. College education preferred.
- Ability to be on feet for long periods of time (walking, standing, etc.) as well as perform all distribution functions regarding lifting, driving, etc.
- Requires repetitive upper body movement – keyboard and monitor use.
- Ability to lift 10-40 pounds
