Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Summary:
Daily functions include but are not limited to; packaging new and refilled medications and preparing prescriptions to be delivered to nursing home facilities. The pharmacy technician's job is to assist the pharmacist in their daily tasks. All work is done under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The ideal candidate will be responsible and professional. Must be able to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment. Punctuality and good attendance are a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently, under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Assist in prepacking frequently ordered medications, label and store, as needed
- Package materials and products manually
- Call third parties to resolve insurance issues
- Pull and/or pick medication from shelving and other medication storage areas
- Apply labels to medication packaging and scan products for accuracy check
- Read and input written prescription and medical data.
- Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED - required
- Idaho Pharmacy Technician license - required
- PTCB Certification -preferred
- Strong order entry experience- preferred
- At least 18 years of age - required
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician (1-2 years Minimum)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Quick and independent learner
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Knowledge of Pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Must Possess excellent typing, keyboarding, and proofreading skills.
