Job Title: Director of Accounting / Accounting Manager
Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid
Type: Full-Time, Permanent/Direct Hire
Pay Range: $130,000 - $175,000 base salary plus bonus plus equity

Position Overview: Manage/oversee/complete all accounting processes for the company and its affiliated commercial real estate development projects and venture partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute financial statements and associated reporting internally, to partners, clients, and lenders.
- Gather, track, record construction project cost information.
- Assemble, prepare, and distribute monthly and/or quarterly draw requests and project reports internally, to partners, clients, and lenders.
- Work with management, investment partners and lenders to ensure proper and timely funding of all projects.
- Oversee all accounts receivable and accounts payable: record various project funding sources, issue payments, prepare invoices in accordance with various partnership agreements.
- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly.
- Work with outside property management firms to ensure proper recording of rent and expenses, review annual operating budgets and analyze CAM reconciliations for operating properties.
- Recommend accounting policy, procedures, and controls with the goal of improving quality, clarity, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5 years of prior experience performing project accounting for real estate development projects required.
- “Big 4” accounting experience highly preferred
- Ability to review, analyze, and extract relevant financial information from leases, loan agreements, joint venture agreements, etc.
- CPA preferred
- Yardi experience preferred
