Job Description:
My Client, a leading design-build construction company in Dublin, OH, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost assessments, bid preparation, and pre-construction planning for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating within the construction industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to determine project scope, schedule, and cost projections.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgets.
- Identify and assess potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and industry pricing trends to improve estimation accuracy.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as needed.
- Assist in contract negotiations and change order evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in estimating software (such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
