About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Staff Attorney to oversee and shape the legal landscape of our organization while partnering closely with executive leadership and stakeholders across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Litigation and Dispute Resolution
- Shape and execute litigation strategies, negotiate settlements, and advocate for effective dispute resolution.
- Participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes to achieve favorable outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance & Advisement
- Guide the organization through federal regulatory requirements and develop compliance programs tailored to key industries (e.g., healthcare, financial services).
- Review, draft, and interpret policies to align with federal laws.
Government Contracting & Procurement
- Lead our contracting and procurement efforts within federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Draft and negotiate federal contracts, advise on eligibility for government contractors, and handle disputes.
Policy and Legislative Affairs
- Stay ahead of legislative developments, providing strategic insights and counsel to leadership on policy implications, particularly those with federal impact.
Administrative Law & Regulatory Affairs
- Advise on interactions with federal agencies, helping secure necessary licenses and permits, drafting responses to agency inquiries, and handling administrative proceedings as needed.
Corporate and Transactional Law
- Navigate complex transactions with federal legal considerations (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures) and advise on compliance risks.
- Draft partnership agreements and review contracts with federal tax and securities implications.
Cybersecurity and Data Privacy
- Stay current on federal data privacy and cybersecurity regulations, ensuring compliance with standards like HIPAA, CCPA, and FERPA.
- Develop and implement data protection policies and incident response plans.
Executive Consultation & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on contract law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution, and collaborating with various departments to support strategic objectives.

Strong skills in litigation, risk management, and legislative analysis are essential. Candidates should bring a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive understanding of federal regulatory and contract law, including cybersecurity and data privacy regulations.
- Proven ability to develop case strategies, negotiate settlements, and navigate federal procurement and compliance.
- Expertise in legislative affairs, with skills to analyze new laws and advise on potential impacts.
- Skilled in drafting and reviewing complex agreements and compliance documentation.
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and adept at building effective, respectful relationships across teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a talent for managing multiple priorities with accuracy.
We require a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in federal contracting, procurement, and regulatory compliance. Must hold an Arkansas law license or the ability to obtain licensure. Preference is given to candidates with experience in federal government contracts and procurement.
