What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Picker position at Connect Staffing?
MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE
Connect Staffing is looking for a dedicated Order Picker to join a leading distribution company in North Houston!
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (Occasional Weekends/OT)
Order Picker Requirements:
- Must have at least one year of forklift experience.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- Extensive experience with FedEx Ship Manager and UPS Worldship programs
- Proficient using Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours throughout shift.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a forklift operator, shipping and receiving, and order selector is a plus!

Order Picker Responsibilities:
- Pick orders with carts and place in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Confirm items to be shipped for accuracy against order, tag with part number and description, and
print required paperwork.
Prepare shipments for FedEx, UPS, LTL and customer will call.
- Record picked items and update inventory systems to reflect changes in stock levels.
- Place ropes and harnesses into 50 gallon buckets to get weighed and enclosed.
- Safely operate forklift, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
- Select various orders and prep them for shipping.
- Maintain quality control on finished products.
- Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
