REPORTS TO : Assistant Lighting Designer, Production Manager
JOB TYPE : Seasonal, Salaried
GENERAL JOB STATEMENT : The Master Electrician works with the Lighting Designer and Assistant Lighting Designer in the direction of electrics staff and crew; hanging, focusing, and maintenance of instruments; planning and execution of electrical projects relating to scenery, props, crafts or otherwise; and inventory budget and management.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Interpret and organize the light plot to determine the most efficient way to hang and focus lights.
- Assist designers and electricians during technical rehearsals and shows.
- Assist in planning, research, and engineering of practicals, special effects, and special projects.
- Assist in organization and maintenance of workspaces and tools.
- Maintain electrics shop and inventory.
- Ability to work with and lead a crew.
- Any additional tasks as requested by the Assistant Lighting Designer or the PM.
