Job Description:
A Medical Assistant works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for their assigned area. They carry out the mission, vision, and values of Phoenix Children’s and show continuous professionalism, strong ethical conduct, and integrity. It is essential to collaborate with colleagues and other departments, perform high standards of work ethic, keep a positive attitude, and adhere to the policies and procedures of Phoenix Children’s.
This position requires current and continuous certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) in the field of Medical Assisting or the ability to acquire within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications:
Education
- Graduated from a Medical Assistant program accredited by one of the following: CAAHEP, ABHES, or other school approved by the Department of Education.
Certifications
- Current BLS certification for Health Care Professionals from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA). *Can be acquired within the first 90 days of employment
Experience
- At least 1-year of MA experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical administrative support by scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing tasks.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care by taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and documenting patient information accurately.
- Utilize EHR systems to input and update patient data efficiently.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic life support techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient service in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Occasional travel to different clinics around the Phoenix area to cover shifts

Pay: $20.00 - $24.96 per hour
