Job Description:
A Medical Assistant works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for their assigned area. They carry out the mission, vision, and values of Phoenix Children’s Hospital and show continuous professionalism, strong ethical conduct, and integrity. It is essential to collaborate with colleagues and other departments, perform high standards of work ethic, keep a positive attitude, and adhere to the policies and procedures of Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
This position requires current and continuous certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) in the field of Medical Assisting or the ability to acquire within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications:
Education-
· Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by one of the following: CAAHEP, ABHES, or other school approved by the Department of Education.
Certifications-
· Current BLS certification for Health Care Professionals from the American Heart Association.
· Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA). *Can be acquired within the first 90 days of employment
Responsibilities
- Provide medical administrative support, including patient intake and scheduling appointments.
- Assist in patient care by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories in EHR systems.
- Ensure compliance with BLS protocols and maintain certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings, including outpatient clinics and emergency medicine.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and physiology to support patient services effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
