The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) is a non-stock, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation incorporated in May 2004. CCAT is an applied technology demonstration and training center that validates, demonstrates and assists with the adoption of leading-edge technologies to enable a resilient supply chain and industrial base while providing vital training and upskilling.
CCAT partners with State and Federal governmental funding agencies such as the DOD, DOE, NASA, SBA and USDOC on technology development and training utilizing government programs and commercial contracts to address military and civilian industrial manufacturing needs. The current technology focus of the Advanced Technology Centers is on multi-material additive manufacturing technologies, composites, advanced design, automation, metrology, industrial automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Position Title: Contracts Administrator
Job Description: As a key member of our team, the Contracts Administrator will be responsible for managing the organization's contracts, subcontracts, grants, and NDAs.
Responsibilities:
- Support the drafting and negotiation of legal documents, including NDAs, MOUs, partnership agreements, subcontracts, and other agreements.
- Help track customer requirements and communicate these to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain records of contractual documents and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
- Manage corporate registrations and maintain up-to-date records in government and state portals.
- Coordinate proposal submissions for federal and state grant opportunities.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of corporate governance policies.
- Work closely with senior legal staff and other internal stakeholders to improve contract processes and tools.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding export-control restrictions, flow-downs, and contractual requirements.
- Organize and maintain legal files, documentation and database.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas and minutes.
- Handle correspondence and direct customer interaction, negotiations, and contract terms and conditions.
- Other duties as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree business or law or a related field required, advanced degree a plus. Total experience can be considered for degree substitution.
Experience:
o 5 – 10 years of experience in a contracts or legal role, with federal government contracting.
oExperience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
Skills:
o Strong organizational skills.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on document management.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
o High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
o Proven track record in managing complex legal issues.
o Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles
Requirements:
o Must fulfill ITAR citizenship requirements.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: This role will be onsite, which will normally be Monday through Friday (including early mornings and/or evenings as necessary).The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office. The person in this position constantly communicates with individuals on a variety of sensitive and contract issues. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally travels to business-related sites. Frequently operates a computer and must have the ability to read computer screens and printed material. Normal conditions with reasonable workstation flexibility. Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
