Job Description
Responsible for maintenance of the clinical databases for the NICU and Division of Neonatology. Includes databases that support patient care handoffs, Quality improvement planning, and research for the NICU.
Responsibilities
DATA INTEGRITY : Provides ongoing quality assurance of the clinical databases for department, to include validating accuracy and completeness of data in forms and reports, by using a variety of techniques to research and resolve data integrity issues.
DATABASE MAINTENANCE : & REPORTING : Gathers and maintains data for department specific metrics regarding regulatory, quality, and performance improvement measures. Creates reports to display this information in accordance with agreed upon format. Maintains various research databases and queries and extracts data for use by Principal Investigators in conducting research. Serves as the primary resource for ad hoc and standard reporting from the various databases to meet information reporting and analysis needs within the department. Assists in maintaining various databases to support planning, research, and documentation for the NICU as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of the age-related differences and needs of patients in appropriate, specific populations and applies them to practice. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients / families. Values cultural diversity and other individual differences in the workforce.

Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Education Required : Must possess a degree or diploma from an accredited nursing program for registered nurses
- Experience Required : Prior experience with relevant PC software and hardware.
- Experience Preferred :
Experience with neonatal databases preferred
LICENSE and / or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
