Under the direct supervision of the RN and Nurse Manager, this position is designed to enhance the flow of the operating room. Ensures that rooms are cleaned in a timely and complete manner between cases. Keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic. The OR EVS Tech is trained to perform certain activities which include: cleaning of physical environment in surgical department, storing supplies and maintaining the operating room in a clean, orderly condition.

Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Follows specific procedure to perform between case cleaning of OR rooms in accordance with AORN guidelines
- Dusts all surfaces that collect dust, removes all trash from area and cleans all furniture and metal fixtures.
- Maintains equipment for cleanliness and cleans work cart and restocks as needed. Reports any repairs that need to be done. Changes mop buckets as specified by Infection control standards.
- Responsible for assisting with patient transport and positioning as needed.
- Responsible to keep dirty utility room clean and organized.
- Ensures all OR floors and interior walkways and common areas are clean, serviceable and maintained in a timely manner.
- Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to ensure adequate cleaning.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Orients and mentors new staff members.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare/Operating room setting.
- Vocational/technical training preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant is required upon hire and maintained.
