Position Summary:
The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day physical operations and appearance of Connecticut Foodshare’s Warehouse in accordance with Feeding America’s standards. This individual will report to Warehouse Management in Wallingford.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Picks and stages orders for distribution to branches and member agencies.
- Stores product appropriately (dry, freezer and cooler) in a reasonably accessible manner.
- Receives and unloads all incoming shipments and loads trucks for outgoing shipments.
- Inspects all donations and reports any problems to Warehouse Manager.
- Accurately counts and completes all associated paperwork.
- Assists with quality control and inventory.
- Identifies and escalates issues to senior team members in a timely manner.
- Performs daily inspection of equipment.
- Maintains a clean work environment free of hazards in compliance with OSHA, GMP and AIB standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Lifting up to 60 lbs. required for inventory storage.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 2 years progressively responsible experience in similar or related function.
- Experience in general warehousing.
- Pallet jack/forklift certification.
