We are the largest gastroenterology practice in the state of Connecticut with 31 Care Centers and still growing. Responsibilities
- Examine and prepare surgical biopsy and small excision specimens as defined by the Surgical Pathology Procedure Manual
- Provide an accurate gross description for each examined specimen utilizing voice recognition software
- Verify and maintain proper identification of specimens
- Maintain accurate quality assurance logs as required
- Receive and accession surgical specimens as needed
- Perform additional specimen handling including, send out and special fixation as required
- Provide coverage for surgical pathology lab aide as required
- Maintenance of Surgical Pathology Laboratory
Educational Requirements /Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related health science
- 1 year of hospital laboratory experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skill
- Excellent attention to detail

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am
