Job Overview

The Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Support Specialist to join our team. This position will work closely with experienced educators to provide exceptional learning experiences for preschool children.

This role involves assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of classroom activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for our young students. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, and maintain confidentiality as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in lesson planning and delivery to meet the diverse needs of preschool children.
  • Support teachers in implementing engaging and interactive activities that promote social-emotional growth and cognitive development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Credits or equivalent experience.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with childcare.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
