Compensation : $48,000 Benefits which include :

Medical (Anthem) : 3 copay / deductible options; base plan is $40 / paycheck

Vision (Mutual of Omaha) : $60 per year; $130 hardware allowance- Employee Funded

Dental (Mutual of Omaha) : $500 per year; $1,750 annual benefit- Employee Funded

Life : 1 x Salary to $100K; paid by CIRI

Voluntary Life : Available to employees and family

Disability : 60% of earnings; paid by CIRI

The Volunteer Coordinator at CIRI plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of volunteering within the organization. This senior position is essential for recruiting, selecting, and supporting volunteers who contribute to the success of CIRI's programs and events. The coordinator ensures volunteers are well-prepared, satisfied, and effectively utilized in various capacities, creating a positive and impactful volunteer experience.

Volunteer / Intern Management

  • Utilize various techniques, including databases, email, events, and social media, to source and recruit volunteers.
  • Work with local colleges and universities to recruit interns for CIRI departments : Refugee Support Services, Economic Empowerment, Youth Services, Immigration Legal Services, Anti-Human Trafficking and Administrative Functions.
  • Oversee tracking of all Intern and Volunteer hours and report to supervisor monthly.
  • Produce schedules for everyday activities and assign responsibilities for special events.
  • Ensure adequate volunteer coverage for all events and activities.
  • Volunteer Support

  • Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they well-placed.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions to understand volunteer experiences and improve support.
  • Arrange for appropriate training when needed and provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Create and manage hybrid information sessions and ongoing training programs for volunteers.
  • Ensure that the purpose of the organization and its actions are clearly communicated to volunteers.
  • Disseminate information about upcoming events and opportunities to volunteers.
  • Plan and organize volunteer events and celebrations to recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions.
  • Meet with each department semi-regularly to understand their needs and align volunteer efforts accordingly.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 years of experience in volunteer / intern management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with Microsoft Forms and Documents.
