The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Information Technology Temporary Assistant for the ITD Cybersecurity Unit, with a primary focus on technical writing.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for executing junior-level cybersecurity analysis and technical documentation tasks. This role encompasses the creation of best practices documentation, incident reports, cybersecurity incident management reports, strategic planning documents, disaster recovery documents, and policies and procedures. The candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Technical Writing: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including best practices, incident management reports, and policies to support cybersecurity operations, strategic planning report for the information technology division.
- Cybersecurity Operations: Deliver cybersecurity incident detection, incident response, threat assessments, cyber intelligence, software security evaluations, and vulnerability assessments.
- Cloud Services Knowledge: Apply foundational knowledge of cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure and Office 365, to ensure effective security controls and identity management practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience with:
- Technical Writing Excellence: Demonstrate an excellent command of information technology technical aspects and the English language, producing high-quality documentation on enterprise storage solutions, identity management, Microsoft Azure, Cisco networking, application security, disaster recovery planning, strategic planning reports, and IT unit tasks and accomplishments report.
- The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written with a collaborative approach to work in a close team environment. Ability to work effectively with all levels of technical and non-technical staff and management is necessary.
- Candidates should possess either relevant experience in information technology or be actively pursuing a degree in the field.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing and subject to a background check.
HEALTHCARE BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY
To become eligible for enrollment in the State of CT Judicial Branch medical and dental insurance, you must work for at least 2 months on a work schedule that is at least 50% of a full-time schedule. Once you meet this requirement, HRM will provide medical and dental coverage information.
COMPENSATION
Successful candidates will be compensated at a rate of $16.35 per hour. Please note this position does not include paid holidays, vacation time, or sick leave.
Following the preliminary interview and prior to extending a formal offer, Judicial branch policy mandates that candidates visit the East Hartford, CT office. During this visit, a Judicial Branch employee will verify the candidate's driver's license and oversee the signing of a background and criminal check authorization form.
