Connecticut Orthopaedics has been serving patients in the Greater New Haven and Fairfield County communities for 60 years and is searching for a part-time enthusiastic MRI Medical Receptionist to join our exceptional care team in our Hamden and Branford offices.
The schedule is Monday thru Friday, 3:00pm-9:00pm.
The MRI Receptionist position focuses on reviewing approved MRI authorizations and contacting the patient to schedule internal and external MRI services. Responsibilities also include managing the patient check-in process for the department and supporting other elements of the department when required.

The MRI Receptionist position focuses on reviewing approved MRI authorizations and contacting the patient to schedule internal and external MRI services. Responsibilities also include managing the patient check-in process for the department and supporting other elements of the department when required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Reviewing completed MRI authorizations as they become available to schedule exam
- Management of incoming calls to the department
- Navigating provider schedules to schedule MRI follow-up appointments
- Frequent utilization of phones
- Documentation in department database to track and communicate the status of an authorization and scheduled appointments
- Operation of computer and its applications to meet job expectations
- Escorting patients to and from the mobile MRI trailer
- Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly across the department and to patients
- Time management
- Knowledge of MRI services and clearance questions prior to scheduling the exam
- Strong aptitude in the use of computer applications
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Capability to pivot to fulfill a stat MRI request
Experience/Educational requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of MRI services preferred but not required
