Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist will operate a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. The technologist will be expected to provide patient-centered compassionate care under the guidance of the COO, Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager, and MRI supervisor. The technologist will perform their duties according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures and demonstrate exceptional service excellence in all interactions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury and is proficient with advanced imaging.
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
- Ordering medical supplies as needed
- Training MRI students
- Thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient to offer them emotional support to endure and complete the exam.
- Prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned, and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure.
- Assists with the training of new MRI technologists.
- Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor

- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
- Maintains a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, provider offices and other associates and peers.
Experience/Educational requirements:
EDUCATION: Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiology program. A.R.R.T MRI certification, A.S. or B.S. required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience with highly developed and advanced technical skills.
LICENSURE: ARRT, CT state license and MRI board certification required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Individual must be able to lift forty pounds (40lbs.)
