Position: System Developer 1
Program: MIS Department
Location: Middletown
Salary: $60,000-65,000/year
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday (This is a hybrid position and is 90% remote.)
Department Summary: Working within Administrative Services, the System Developer 1 is part of the Information Technology team that supports smooth operations for agency programs across the state. The Connection provides essential services to people in need of assistance for homelessness, substance use treatment, behavioral healthcare, and returning to communities after incarceration.
Position Summary:
The System Developer 1 is responsible for providing data support to our clients both internal and external. Collating and verifying data from multiple sources. Development, maintenance and documentation of computer programs, applications, and reports for internal and external customers. In addition:
- Primary PHP developer for Camis System.
- Create complex applications using web technologies
- Develop reports for internal and external customers
- Test developed applications against business needs
- Install applications in the production environment
- Produce appropriate technical and business documentation for developed applications
- Develop interface programs between multiple platforms and systems
- Provides end user support on developed applications
- Collaborates with other System Developers and Director of MIS on techniques and languages
- Must have PHP development experience, version 5 8
- Experience with CodeIgniter 4 a plus
- Web development languages such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS is required.
- Thoroughly versed in SQL programming language
- Experience in any of the following programming languages: (C#/VB) .Net
- Experience with IDE Visual Studio and/or PHP Storm
- Experience in Visual FoxPro a plus
- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork

- Strong multi-tasking ability and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience supporting NextGen EHR a plus.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience developing software
- Valid Drivers License
- Regular and predictable attendance is required for this hybrid position
Orientation:
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
