Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. This role is crucial in assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in both outpatient and inpatient care environments, including teaching hospitals and clinics, and will be familiar with working in a Level I Trauma Center or similar facilities.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide support in medical-surgical settings, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in the Emergency Medicine department to deliver high-quality care.
- Help maintain a clean and organized environment within the patient care area.
- Support patients during their stay in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management strategies.
- Document patient progress and report any changes to nursing staff promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to outpatient and inpatient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to outpatient, inpatient, emergency medicine, and surgical care is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or PICUs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Must be able to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed by the healthcare facility.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.24 - $12.72 per hour
