IT Asset Manager *Hybrid

Connection Services has a fantastic Hybrid opportunity for an IT Asset Manager in San Jose, CA. Someone with 5 years experience. Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors (e.g., technicians, designers, support personnel). Acts as advisor to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.

The IT Asset Manager handles daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will help in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spending across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.
 

Job Summary:

·       Ensure IT Hardware, Software, and Contracts are consistent and reliable, working with various teams across the organization.

·       Provide KPI / Metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis, together with unscheduled reporting demanded by management.

·       Leverage local business unit IT resources to perform asset management and supervise their performance.

·       Design processes relating to software and hardware asset management, execute and enhance them.

·       Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management.

·       Collaborate with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance.

·       Establish and maintain hardware and software maintenance databases.

·       Help control costs and budgets regarding IT hardware and software licenses.

Skills:

·       Bachelor’s Degree required. 2 years or more experience managing staff. Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware as well as three or more years’ experience working in a similar role.

·       Proven ability and experience in executing strategic asset management processes successfully.

·       Strong knowledge of licensing agreements involving software.

·       Strong knowledge of IT Service Management processes.

·       Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision.

·       Excellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time without erring.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.

·       Good understanding of the organization's business.
