Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Network Administrator in Fitchburg, MA. This is an onsite contract-to-hire position offering great benefits.
Network Administrator to maintain and enhance our network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a mid-level IT professional looking to handle the day-to-day operations of a stable and well-managed environment. The position requires occasional local travel to our five satellite locations and a pre-employment drug screening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including switching, wireless, LAN management, and network access control.
- Incrementally improve network services, reliability, and security while troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Provide network support across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms.
- Maintain Windows Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Develop and maintain network design and security documentation.
- Draft and update technical policies and procedures.
- Manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
- Implement and enforce security, change control, patch management, compliance, incident response, and access control policies and procedures.
- Administer backup, recovery testing, email systems, web servers, internet access, office applications, and VoIP phone systems.
- Monitor and maintain network security, responding as necessary based on company policies and CIO directives.
- Provide customer support and collaborate effectively with IT staff, end-users, and third-party vendors.
- Offer senior-level technical hardware and software support for data center systems, WAN/LAN networks, and company IT-supported devices.
- Coordinate daily scheduled and unscheduled IT operations and maintenance activities to ensure data availability and system stability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a network environment; healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of network security tools such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-spam applications.
- Proficiency with network analysis and troubleshooting tools.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Understanding of virtualized environments, including SCALE, Nutanix, and Acronis Backup.
- Strong knowledge of security policies and firewalls (CATO, Meraki).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, O365, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Azure and Juniper Mist; familiarity with SysAid is a plus.
- Proficiency with Meraki and Dell switching technology and high-level support.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams is a plus.
- Familiarity with Mimecast and Bitdefender is beneficial.
- Experience with VoIP systems, including management and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Active Directory principles and best practices.
