Job Summary
Working under general supervision of the Manager/Sr Manager Partner Alliance, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Senior Business Development Specialist proactively increases sales in their funded vendor and/or partner’s specific practice area (e.g. Data Center, Networking, Workforce Optimization, Software) by working directly with the Account Managers and Sales management team to penetrate accounts and increase our market share in the focus business segment(s). The BDS maintains and increases knowledge of their specific technology practice area by attending trainings and achieving certifications.
Responsibilities
Required Job Duties
Works directly with Account Managers and Sales Managers to identify sales opportunities in the practice area through book of business reviews.
- Drives demand and pipeline for Cisco software solutions including subscriptions, enterprise agreements, and XaaS solutions, through application-centric customer and sales engagement
- Opportunities can include networking, security, collaboration, and cloud infrastructure, and related management tools either on premise or cloud based.
- Analyzes business systems infastructure utilizing networking applications
- Develops focus accounts in practice area (eg. active accounts but under-penetrated or inactive/declining accounts).
- Partners with sales and engages in customer calls to help identify, develop and close where applicable.
- Collaborates with vendor or partners inside and/or field team to jointly target specific accounts.
- Drives vendor or partner promotions and programs with the Sales teams.
- Collaborates on business development and communicates with the Sales teams.
- Strategizes with Sales management on tactics for success related to growing the related business segment and practice area.
- Frequently dialogues with Account Managers and the Sales management team on plan progress and strategies on tactics for success.
Defines and articulates a network transformation journey for clients and sellers Designs solutions
Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Competencities
- Working knowledge of respective practice area technologies and related product solutions (datacenter, networking, security, cloud, converged, hyperconverged) ability to create well
- Organized plans and business cases to present to client that clearly articulate relevant facts about proposed business solution
- High aptitude to stay current and train on related technology areas Account planning skills with experience in up-sell and cross-sell strategies
- Adept at providing technical solutions based on customer needs per the practice area Analytical with ability to assess the customer’s business systems requirements
- Action oriented with strong executional skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven Excellent time management skills
