Florida Connections Academy (FCA) is seeking a Student Success Coach (Advisory Teacher) who is passionate about supporting students in a virtual learning environment. Working from your home in Florida, certified teachers in this role will virtually manage instructional programs, using telephone, internet, and various curriculum tools to regularly consult with Learning Coaches and students, ensuring each student successfully completes their instructional program.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated educator with a passion for fostering student achievement through proactive engagement, academic coaching, and targeted interventions. This role is designed to help students succeed by identifying challenges, developing personalized support plans, and collaborating with teachers, Learning Coaches, and support staff to remove barriers to success.

The Student Success Coach will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities
- Support the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction to enhance student learning.
- Review curriculum and develop alternative approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding, working directly with students and parents.
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and schedules.
- Score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, and monitor completion of assignments.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure:
- All students are making adequate progress.
- Parents have a central point of contact.
- Instructional tasks are effectively distributed among teachers.
- Develop a general knowledge of the entire K-12 curriculum and a detailed knowledge of high school courses for which responsible.
- Support students and parents with alternate instructional strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects.
- Develop and implement academic and behavioral interventions for students, ensuring frequent progress monitoring.
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and curriculum specialists via computer and telephone.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and family communications logs in the student information system.
- Collaborate with learning specialists and teachers to develop enrichment activities and program modifications to enhance student learning.
- Work with other teachers to coordinate social activities and relevant field trips for students.
- Manage regional field trips and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Create and implement virtual methods to maintain a strong “school community”.
- Participate in the organization and administration of state testing, including proctoring and reporting.
- Engage in student recruitment sessions and marketing efforts that require teacher representation.
- Ensure students and families receive appropriate communications, meet academic goals, and progress successfully through the program.
- Attend field trips, community events, and family engagement activities to strengthen student connections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must hold multiple valid Florida Educator Certifications across various high school content areas.
- Highly qualified and certified to teach High School Math and/or English in Florida (6-12 certification required) is preferred.
- Must currently hold a Professional-level Florida teaching certificate.
- ESOL endorsement or certification in Florida is required.
- Gifted endorsement or certification in Florida is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Florida’s RtI and MTSS procedures to support student interventions.
- Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building abilities.
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced virtual environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting.
- Travel across the state is required for state testing administration, which may include overnight travel.
- Ability to work remotely and manage a structured virtual classroom.
- Willingness to work some occasional evening hours as needed to support students and families.
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication.
