Role:
To support the financial management and operations of the Credit Union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs daily tasks within the general accounting department and automated payments areas. Position is located in Pocatello at the Oak St Branch.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Performs daily tasks which includes member account corrections, processing and tracking return deposit items, post/balance wires, process stop payments and balance corporate checks, post online and EOM automated checks, balance and assist branches with daily deposits, post accounting entries, running errands, and assisting others within the departments as needed.
- Performs supporting tasks within general accounting including posting accounting entries, balancing general ledgers, files and assists in preparation of various reports.
- Enters bills into accounting system, process checks, reviews and maintains vendor system, mails out checks, and scans/organizes bills in electronic format.
- Provides backup to both the Accounting Supervisor and Automated Payments Specialist.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
· Keep all assigned GL accounts current and in balance daily according to established department standards.
· Process and reconcile daily official check settlement, stop payments, and requests for check copies and reconcile the corresponding GL account in accordance with established department standards.
· Post proper GL entries in a timely and accurate manner.
· Prepare all reports within the prescribed time frame with zero errors.
· Provide helpful and informative service and support to all members and associates.
· Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED
- At least one year accounting or similar experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong accounting and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Must be bondable
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Wages: DOE $16.00-22.00 p/h
