We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Elementary School Age Program Coordinator to oversee and enrich our before and afterschool program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, organizing field trips, designing summer programs, and managing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the program. This role requires creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for working with elementary-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning:
- Develop and implement creative, educational, and age-appropriate lesson plans for the program.
- Ensure that activities align with the Project Based Learning.
- Field Trip Planning:
- Organize and coordinate field trips that complement the School Age curriculum.
- Develop and distribute field trip permission forms, ensuring all permissions and logistical arrangements are completed in advance.
- Summer Program Design:
- Design and plan an engaging and educational summer program for elementary students.
- Coordinate with other School Age staff to ensure a well-organized and exciting summer experience.
- Program Duties:
- Create and manage calendars of events and activities for summer.
- Develop and maintain all necessary documentation, including permission slips, schedules, and program/licensing policies compliance.
- Classroom Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the school age program, including supervising and engaging with students.
- Implement behavior management (Conscious Discipline) strategies and maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administrators to ensure the program meets the needs of students.
- Communicate regularly with parents about program activities, student progress, and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in an afterschool or recreational setting.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
