The successful incumbent will have the ability to assess a variety of complex situation and determine the most effective means to resolve situations. Leadership skills in decision making, problem solving, and interpersonal relations are involved in the daily contracts of working with department directors, physicians, staff, visitors, and vendors. Is responsible to set the climate for cooperation between co-workers and shifts for a smooth-running operation. Requires judgment|action that could impact the patient's outcome. This is a working-director position. Must be able to jump in as a nurse and take care of patients as required by business needs.
Additional information regarding our Emergency Department :
Function as a level 3 trauma center (stabilize and transport)
15 beds
Approximately 60-70 patients per day
3-6 approximate admits per day
24|7 Cardiac Cath Lab designation (accredited)
Chest pain accreditation
Stroke protocol
Direct reports include approximately 30 employees 1 manager
Staffing typically includes a collaborative team of 2-4 RNs, 1 EMT, 1 PA, and 1 Physician per 12-hour shift.
4 : 1 patient ratio in ER and 6 : 1 in fast track
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree preferred.
License|Certification : Current Nevada RN (or ability to obtain prior to hire) required. American Heart Association Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required upon hire
Experience : Must have 3 years previous leadership experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
Skills : Requires knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures, OSHA, TJC standards. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, typed, auditory or visual fashion is essential. The methods used to express or exchange ideas are by spoken, written, or typed words. Written and manual dexterity skills are also required for the position. Ability to assess a variety of complex situations and determine the most effective means to resolve situations.
