As a DSP, you will work directly with adults and children with developmental/intellectual disabilities to help them become integrated in their community at their preferred level. You will work with the customers of Connections NW in their home and in the community. DSP’s will be responsible for following support plans to assist customers in reaching their personal goals, creating daily progress notes in a timely manner, and communicating professionally and appropriately with the customers, their family members and any other members of their team. Employees of Connections NW must maintain the highest level of compliance with all policies, procedures, values and standards.
Our clients have diverse needs, and we have openings for both day and swing shifts throughout the week. Transportation may require up to a 30-minute commute each way. For clients aged 18 and above, we provide mileage reimbursement for travel. This position offers flexibility to accommodate your lifestyle. We are committed to collaborating with our employees to establish a schedule that suits their individual needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance, care, and support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and mobility.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence, inclusion, and dignity.
- Assist individuals in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.
- Implement individualized care plans and document individual progress and interactions.
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and other stakeholders to ensure the best quality of care.
- Promote and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere for the individuals served.
- OIS certification preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18 years of age
- OIS certification is a plus
- Pass a criminal history background check
- Valid driver’s license
- Auto insurance and a reliable vehicle
- Smartphone
- Work when scheduled based on the customer needs
- Complete First Aid & CPR Certification
- 24 Hours of paid training yearly
Job Type: Part-time or full-time positions, flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings and weekends.
