Direct Support Professional
Creating meaningful connections between our clients and their local community, while promoting the development of healthy relationships and individual independence through personalized direct services.
Job Type: Monday through Saturday, 2:45 pm to 7:00 pm
Salary: $24.00/hr
As a DSP at Connections NW, your role involves assisting individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities to integrate into their community at their desired level. You'll work with these individuals in their homes and within the community, following support plans to help them achieve their personal goals. Your responsibilities include timely progress note documentation, professional communication with clients, their families, and team members, and maintaining strict compliance with our policies, procedures, values, and standards.
Our clients have diverse needs, and we have openings for both day and swing shifts throughout the week. Transportation may require up to a 30-minute commute each way. For clients aged 18 and above, we provide mileage reimbursement for travel. This position offers flexibility to accommodate your lifestyle. We are committed to collaborating with our employees to establish a schedule that suits their individual needs.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES CAN INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assist clients with tasks while encouraging as much independence as possible
- Provide services and implement goals in accordance with the Individualized Plan
- Assist with activities of daily living, that could include toilet and personal hygiene, meal preparation and household chores
- Medication schedule and reminders
- Transportation to appointments, community activities or other daily living needs
- Additional support as deemed necessary by the customer/family and support team
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass a criminal history background check
- Valid driver’s license
- Auto insurance and a reliable vehicle
- Smartphone
- Work when scheduled based on the customer needs
- Complete First Aid & CPR Certification upon hire
- 24 Hours of paid training yearly
