Apprentice Security Technician

Connectivity Point is currently looking for a full-time Apprentice Security Technician to support the Operations division of Connectivity Point. This role is available in Rhode Island.

The Opportunity: This full-time role offers a unique blend of teamwork and independence, allowing you to thrive in a dynamic work environment. The Apprentice Security Technician position assists with the installation of commercial network and low voltage infrastructure wiring and security solutions systems. The Apprentice Security Technician will support our seasoned technicians with installations and troubleshooting complex commercial telecommunications systems and security solutions systems while having on the job training. The qualified candidate will have computer networking skills along with basic knowledge of construction and tools.

Must-haves in a candidate:

• A High School diploma or equivalent.

• A people person who is comfortable interacting with customers and team members.

• Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft office products (word, excel, outlook and teams)

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs

• Must be comfortable working on ladders and scissor lifts.

• Ability to work occasional on-call times at night or on weekends.

• Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.

• Must possess good decision-making skills, be very organized and detail oriented.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Not required, but nice to have in a candidate:

• Previous experience in low voltage cabling and limited low energy work.

• Knowledge of electrical theory, computer networking, building construction.
